The Sydney Korean Education Centre held the Term 3 Korean Language Course Completion Ceremony and Cultural Experience Event from 22 to 25 September 2026 during each class session. The event took place in the Sydney Korean Education Centre classrooms.

As part of the cultural experience program, participants took part in a variety of hands-on activities designed to introduce them to Korean traditional music and instruments. These activities included making a janggu keyring craft, learning about Korean traditional instruments and rhythmic patterns, and performing together in rhythm. During the sessions, learners explored the janggu and the buk and learned basic Korean rhythmic patterns. 

They then practised playing together while singing “Arirang,” allowing them to experience Korean traditional music in an enjoyable and engaging way. In addition, participants enjoyed a gayageum performance on Tuesday, and daegeum performances on Wednesday and Thursday, which gave them further opportunities to appreciate the sounds and characteristics of Korean traditional instruments. 

As a special cultural treat, participants also received a janggu keyring as a souvenir and enjoyed songpyeon and traditional Korean drinks in celebration of Chuseok. 

This event provided learners with a meaningful opportunity to experience Korean traditional culture while deepening their interest in the Korean language and Korea’s rich musical heritage.
