Study in Korea Video Screening and Korean Alphabet Eco Bag-Making Activity
The Korean Education Centre in Sydney hosted a school visit program for 25 students from Burwood Girls High School on 27 May 2026.
The visit was organised to introduce Korean language and culture to local Australian students and to help them develop a greater interest in Korea. The students first watched a short Study in Korea video, which introduced Korean universities, student life in Korea, and support systems for international students.
Following the video, the students participated in a hands-on cultural activity by making their own Korean alphabet eco bags. Using stencils featuring Korean letters, the students decorated their bags with colourful markers and created their own unique designs.
Through this activity, the students were able to experience the visual beauty of Hangeul not only as a writing system, but also as a creative design element. The students took their completed eco bags home as a meaningful souvenir of their visit to the Korean Education Centre.
The Korean Education Centre also presented each student with a mobile phone stand featuring traditional Korean patterns as a gift, providing another opportunity for students to experience Korean cultural design.
The Korean Education Centre in Sydney will continue to offer school engagement programs and cultural activities that help Australian students experience Korean language and culture in an enjoyable and accessible way.
