Study in Korea Promotion and Korean Name Seal Carving Experience for NSW School of Languages Students

On 4 March 2026, the Sydney Korean Education Centre hosted a Korean cultural experience program for students from the Korean Beginner class at NSW School of Languages. A total of 33 participants attended the event, including 31 Year 12 students and two teachers.

The program began with a screening of a “Study in Korea” promotional video, followed by the distribution of informational materials about studying in Korea. Through this session, students were introduced to various opportunities such as Korean universities, Korean language programs, and scholarship options. The activity provided students with valuable insights into academic opportunities in Korea.

Following the presentation, students participated in a hands-on cultural activity: Korean name seal carving. Students designed their Korean names and carved them onto stamps, learning about the traditional Korean seal culture and the art of seal engraving. After completing their seals, they stamped them onto bookmarks, creating their own personalized keepsake.

This program provided students learning Korean with an opportunity to experience Korean culture firsthand and deepen their understanding of Korea.

The Sydney Korean Education Centre will continue to provide a variety of experiential programs to support students in learning Korean language and culture in engaging and meaningful ways.
