The Sydney Korean Education Centre successfully held the 2025 “My Dream, Your Dream” Mentoring Program on Friday, November 7, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
The event was designed to provide practical information on settlement, employment, and permanent residency in Australia for Korean youth on Working Holiday and student visas, supporting their stable adaptation to life in Australia.
Two mentors with extensive experience in studying and working in Australia were invited to share their insights.
In the first session, Mentor Seungon Choi spoke on “The Reality and Preparation of Working Holiday Life in Australia”, sharing his own experiences on visa extensions, job-seeking tips, and effective English learning methods.
In the second session, Mentor Yoojin Woo (Jen’s Story) presented on “From Student Visa to Permanent Residency”, discussing her journey as a chartered accountant and offering practical career and job strategies that deeply resonated with participants.
Around 20 participants, including Working Holiday makers and university students, took part in the mentoring program. Through open Q&A sessions, they received realistic advice from mentors and shared their own experiences.
After the talks, participants also enjoyed a networking session, fostering ongoing communication and mutual support among Korean youths in Australia.
Participants expressed high satisfaction, saying that “the program helped them gain clearer direction for their life and career plans in Australia.”
The Sydney Korean Education Centre plans to continue offering various career and settlement support programs to help young Koreans successfully adapt and thrive in Australia.
