(Sydney, 29 October 2025) – The first day of “K-Culture Week 2025”, hosted by the Korean Studies Program at the UNSW School of Humanities & Languages, took place successfully on Tuesday, 28 October at the Ainsworth Building, UNSW Kensington Campus.
Supported by the Sydney Korean Education Centre, the event was held under the theme “Discover Korea”, bringing together over 40 participants, including UNSW students, exchange students, and faculty members. The program featured a rich lineup of sessions ranging from study abroad and career opportunities to traditional Korean cultural experiences.
Study Abroad Information & Alumni Career Talk
The event opened with a Study Abroad Information Session, offering detailed guidance on exchange and study programs in Korea, including TOPIK requirements and application procedures.
This was followed by an inspiring Alumni Talk Session, where UNSW Korean Studies graduates shared their career journeys across global business, public institutions, and the cultural industry — highlighting the broad career potential of Korean Studies majors.
Hands-on Cultural Experience: A “Live Korea” Moment
In the Ainsworth G01 lecture room, a hands-on cultural booth invited participants to explore Korean heritage through activities such as patchwork bookmark making (jogakbo), paper hanbok folding, hanbok dressing with photo zone, and DIY gimbap making.
One participant commented, “It felt like Korean culture came to life — not just something you learn from textbooks, but something you can wear, make, and taste yourself.”
