The 19th Korean Performance Contest (2025)

The 19th Korean Performance Contest (2025) was successfully held on 19 September at the Latvian Hall in Strathfield, hosted by the Korean Education Centre in Sydney.

 

Over 700 students from Korean language schools across Australia participated in the artwork, performance, and video clip categories.

 

Final event highlights:

o Around 300 attendees including students, families, and teachers.

o 14 finalist teams performed in the final stage (9 primary, 5 secondary)

 

Winners:

Performance category:

 

o K-6 Year, 1st place: Tyndale Christian School Creative fan dance

  - Prizes included: electronic keyboard and $300 gift card.

o 7-12 Year, 1st place: Gold Creek School (Canberra) Vocal trio singing "I Am a Butterfly" with live guitar.

  - Prizes included: Round-trip tickets to Korea, and $500 gift card.

 

Artwork category:

o K-6 Year, 1st place: Ya Ren Aina Cui (Campsie Public School) Artwork on the theme “What Korea Means to Me.”

  - Prizes included: ukulele and $200 gift card.

o 7-12 Year, 1st place : 38 students (NSW School of Languages) Group work titled “Our Face, One Taegeukgi.”

  - Prizes included: guitar and $300 gift card.

 

Video Clip category:

o 7-12 Year, 1st place: Heebok Lee & 6 students (Victorian School of Languages) Energetic Samulnori (Korean percussion) performance.

  - Prizes included: $200 gift card.
