From March 24 to 28, Monash University successfully hosted Korea Week, offering students a vibrant range of Korean cultural experiences. Activities included making gimbap (Korean rice rolls), crafting Hangeul bead bracelets, trying on hanbok (traditional Korean attire), and engaging in fun, hands-on programs. A Korea-themed trivia competition was also held, with students from four universities across Victoria participating, showcasing their knowledge and enthusiasm for Korean culture.
Following this, Careers Week took place from April 8 to 10, featuring Monash Korean Studies alumni who shared their real-life career journeys. They offered valuable insights on studying and working abroad, navigating the job market, and choosing career paths. Some sessions included guest speakers from various industries, providing students with practical guidance and employer perspectives.
These events were supported by the Korean Education Centre in Sydney, under the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea, and organized in close collaboration with the Korean Studies program at Monash University. The initiatives aimed to promote study opportunities in Korea and support Korean language and Korean Studies students in Australia.
The Korean Education Centre plans to continue partnering with Australian universities to deliver more study abroad information sessions and cultural engagement programs in the future.
