Sydney Korean Education Centre Signs MOU with Korean Teacher Training Universities

On November 24, 2024, the Sydney Korean Education Centre signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with four Korean teacher training universities—Gwangju National University of Education, Jeonju National University of Education, Jinju National University of Education, and Chuncheon National University of Education—to enhance educational collaboration.


This agreement aims to promote Korean language education and cultural exchange through various initiatives. Key areas of cooperation include:

  • Supporting joint teaching practicums for pre-service teachers
  • Promoting Korean cultural education in Australia
  • Providing mentoring and educational volunteer programs for Australian learners of Korean
  • Supporting Korean heritage schools and related events for Korean-Australian communities

The signing ceremony was attended by university presidents and key representatives. Director Kwon Ji-young of the Sydney Korean Education Centre remarked, "This agreement will further contribute to the promotion of the Korean language and culture. I look forward to the synergy created by the strengthened partnership between our institutions."

This partnership is expected to serve as a significant milestone in advancing educational and cultural exchanges between Korea and Australia.
