Discussion on Promoting Korean Language Programs in Primary and Secondary Schools and Strengthening Higher Education Cooperation
The Australia-Korea Business Council (AKBC) visited the Sydney Korean Education Centre to discuss ways to enhance educational and cultural exchanges between Australia and Korea. The primary focus of the meeting was on expanding Korean language programs in primary and secondary schools and fostering cooperation in higher education.
The Sydney Korean Education Centre runs various programs aimed at promoting Korean language and culture in Australian schools. During the discussions, AKBC emphasized that Korean language education in primary and secondary schools plays a key role in strengthening the economic and trade partnership between the two countries, highlighting the importance of promoting Korean language education as a foundation for future economic and cultural exchanges.
In addition, an in-depth discussion was held on cooperation in higher education. Both parties agreed to maintain regular communication and collaboration to further enhance educational and cultural exchanges and to establish a sustainable framework for ongoing cooperation.
Ji-Young Kwon, Director of the Sydney Korean Education Centre, expressed her hopes that the discussions would lead to the expansion of Korean language education and increased collaboration in higher education across Australia. She remarked, “We believe that education will serve as a vital force in strengthening the friendly relationship between Korea and Australia as Korean language education becomes more widespread across the nation.”
