The Korean Education Centre in Sydney successfully held the "2024 Korean Performance Contest" on August 16th at the Latvian Hall in Strathfield.
The event featured 600 students from primary and secondary schools in Australia, showcasing their Korean language and cultural skills through art and performances.
The final competition included 12 selected artworks and performances by 13 teams, with notable displays of cultural diversity, including poetry recitations, musical performances, and K-pop dances.
Special events such as K-Beauty, K-Food, and K-Culture experiences were also featured.
The Consul General of Korea in Sydney, Yong-jun Choi, attended and emphasized the importance of language learning in strengthening Korea-Australia relations.
Awards included K-pop albums, baseball caps, and a round-trip ticket to Korea for the top performers.
Director Ji-young Kwon highlighted the event's role in promoting Korean language education in Australia.
