The Korean Education Centre in Sydney, in collaboration with the Sydney branch of the Korea Tourism Organization, hosted the 'EDUTOUR AND STUDENTS EXCHANGES IN KOREA' event. The event took place on Wednesday, July 24, from 6 PM for approximately three hours at the Park Royal Hotel in Sydney. About 60 attendees, including officials from the NSW Department of Education, principals and Korean language teachers from high schools offering Korean language programs, and representatives from travel agencies, were invited.
The event was organized to promote international educational exchanges between primary and secondary schools in Korea and Australia and to publicize school trips to Korea. The program included a welcome address by Ji-Young Kwon, the head of the hosting organization, and Hyung-Jun Kim, the branch manager. This was followed by a speech from Sylvia Corish, Executive Director of the NSW Department of Education. The event also featured a presentation on school trips to Korea by the Korea Tourism Organization, a case study on organizing school trips to Korea, an introduction to the work and international exchange programs of the Korean Education Center in Sydney, a presentation on online class exchanges with Korea, a performance of traditional Korean music using the haegeum, and networking opportunities.
